DAY ONE - Morning
Got up at 7am this morning to get ready for our 8am delegation meeting, and at which we had a surprise guest pop in. Just as we were getting ready for Josh Tardy (House Minority leader) to speak, he introduced Karl Rove.
Wicked, Rove spoke about John McCain and how McCain had defied his Vietnamese captors to help fellow American prisoners. He also mentioned some other personal stories about McCain that I felt were quite moving, and I believe say a lot about McCain’s character. A real very palpable contrast from Obama, and overall it was an awesome treat to meet Rove and hear more about McCain’s personal story. Not sure how we lucked out that the Maine delegation was able to get Rove for our breakfast meeting, but I’ll guess it has something to do with us being in THE hotel for Minneapolis, although it probably has more to do with his frequent visits to Maine to stay with the Bush family in Kennebunkport. We’ll head off to the Convention around 1pm for the gavel drop around 3ish, good chance Alex or I might get to fill in for a delegate.

Will update later this evening with more adventures, and hopefully will be able to get some better internet access so I can upload some pictures and video. Otherwise it has been quite an exciting morning.
