I love watching the previews at movies (some summer film reviews)
I used to do movie reviews for my college news paper so I thought I might take up the practice again, as I did enjoy it and now that P.I. has a theater again I find myself going to the movies more often. Should be much fun.
Hancock: Big disappointment. They had a good idea and then somewhere along the way they lost it. It was one movie and then suddenly it was a different movie, the plot shift was definitely a buzz killer. Some really good effects and a few really cute scenes, but the ending just left a lot to be desired.
Wall-E: Awesome. Great kids film but with enough sub plot to keep us adults very entertained. I didn’t care for the subtle environmental propaganda, but I did appreciate the technology run amuck theme. Food for thought. It had a strong plot and is an overall good film for some warm and fuzzy good feelings.
Watchmen, Trailer: OMG!!! That is really all I have to say, it was that good and it pains me deeply we have to wait till march of next year to see it, grrrrrrrr. But it looks like it is well worth the wait, if you haven’t seen it yet I recommend you go check it out. Click Here to Watch. The trailer is so awesome that I only hope the movie can actually live up to it, and I have a feeling the hype around this film the closer it gets to its release is going to be staggering.
Batman, Dark Knight: Wicked, wicked awesome. NOT A KIDS FILM. This film deals with some really dark adult themes, and the acting is done so well you can’t help but be truly creeped out. Heath Ledger as the Joker is truly a sight to see (unnerving even), and overall the film was a lot to take in. Although the movie is longer than your average film you don’t notice it at all. The plot is very solid and complex, telling multiple stories at the same time in what has become this incarnation of Batman’s great character development power. I loved Aaron Eckhart in ‘Thank You For Smoking,’ and he again gives a great performance in this film as Harvey Dent aka Two-Face. It is too bad though, I really felt bad for his character, a true testament to his skills. Much darker then the first film, this squeal though definitely has Oscar potential as every part is played by A-list actors, all of whom deliver stellar performances. This is one movie I am going to see at least twice, plus it was just that kewl, and left me giddy with excitement, can’t wait for the third installment.
